Seriously? We're still asking these questions?

It must be an annual pattern. Around this time last year, I was approached with a question:

“Why do you pay a healer, an intuitive guide, and a spiritual teacher for their gifts. They should be free right?”

Additionally, this question also arises…

“Why would you pay them when you can do all these things for yourself?”

I am observing the same questions popping up again this year, even more so than any other time of the year... so I feel it all bears repeating

So, let's start with “Why do you pay a healer, an intuitive guide, and a spiritual teacher for their gifts. They should be free right?”

First, money is a beautiful form of energy when we allow it to be. Their gifts are also a beautiful form of energy. For me, it’s an exchange of energy for their ‘gifts.’

Second, this is their profession!

In particular, the ladies I work with have invested greatly into their practice, and I certainly don’t ask an author, artist, or any other person to give me their gifts and energy for free.

Could you imagine? “Hey Stephen King, I am going to need you to sit down to tell me a story, or write it down real quick because that’s your gift.”

Third, if these ladies weren’t receiving payment for their profession/practice, they may go into a different one to 'earn a living.'

My reiki healer may become a nurse with little to no energy at the end of the day to focus on me.

My intuitive mentor may take a job in a big corporation, exchanging her gifts with people who sell products and services to the masses and ultimately line the pockets of the C-suite. All fine and good, but if she’s worked all day, how can I expect her to share her gifts with me?

My spiritual teacher may take a job as a traditional teacher, and I couldn't imagine there would be much energy to giveaway after that.

You get the point.

Also, I don’t know about others, but I would prefer to pay my healer to support me in my wellness, rather than pay the doctors and hospitals when I’m broken. I would rather the exchange happen before I am paying pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies to “fix my body and mind.”

I would rather pay my intuitive guide to help me clarify and align with what I know deep down in my soul and help me release resistance in areas that aren’t aligned… than to buy the services and products of major companies that I might use to numb and distract myself.

I prefer to pay my spiritual teacher to not only share her knowledge but to partner and co-create with me in my growth. I know these women offer their gifts freely, often. They do a great deal of pro-bono work. I assume they do so for the same reasons I do, when I have space to do so... because it feels good AND because their cup is full after receiving energy exchange for the profession they love.

And “why do I pay someone else to do what I can do myself.”

Just as doctors see other doctors, therapists hire therapists, coaches have coaches, and lawyers don't represent themselves, intuitives and healers are best served by allowing their natural well-being to be channeled by a co-creative partner when they are feeling resistant.

At least this is true for me.

We need each other and I’d love to see a world where we exchange energy with one another for the things that matter most, rather than running around like hamsters on wheels and hoping we have enough left to give at the end of the day.

Lastly, I pay them so much because they are valuable! I know, from experience, that the years of study, certifications, practice, etc. are investments to serve others doesn't come free. If I didn’t feel I had the money to pay them, I wouldn’t. And I trust that every other individual in the world can make that decision as well.

If you are in these professions/practices, THANK YOU! Your energy means so much to the people you serve, and you are more worthy and valuable than you know.

Know that I am here to uplift you, root for you, and support you in any way that serves you best.

All My Love to you!

Angie
